It was then bottled at cask strength as part of Diageo’s special releases series in 2015. Notes of warm scented wax, vanilla cream, hazelnut, and toasted coconut float above a grassy note and a cereal base, all suffused with a hint of smoke. The sea appears very late, like a fresh sea breeze. With a little water, the scented wax emerges, with honey and citronella softening the vanilla aromas. On the palate, good texture and surprising flavor, smoky with attractive smoothness, beautifully balanced. With the addition of water, very easy to drink and rewarding: fuller in texture than at full strength, less sweet, becoming dry, cleansing, and delicately smoky.
